say goodbye.

Do not burn your candle fore more than 4 hours. When it's time to say goodbye, gently blow out your candle or use a snuffer to extinguish the flame. Allow candle to cool before storing out of direct sunlight.

call it a day.

To maximize the burn of your candle, let the entire top burn (approximately 1 hour per 1 inch). Keep in mind that burning your candle in short bursts will cause tunneling. Do not burn for more than four hours at a time.

give it space.

Keep your wax free of wick debris, dust, or other pollutants before burning.

clean it out.

Before lighting, trim your wick to 1/4 inch (6 mm) above the wax. After each burn, trim the wick to where the wood naturally breaks off.

keep it trimmed.

One of the easiest ways to clean leftover wax from a candle vessel is to pop it into the freezer for several hours. The wax should easily pop out of the container. If it doesn't, you can use a butter knife, spoon, or bamboo skewer to gently detach the wax from the edge of the container.

Another trick is to pour boiling water into your container. The water will help melt the wax, which should float to the top. Once the water cools, you can remove the wax. Do not discard the used water down your drain, as any wax in it could clog your drain.

Once your jar is empty, carefully scrape away any wax that remains stuck to the container walls and then clean it with soap and water. Your container is now ready to receive a candle refill or upcycled to store something new.

How do I clean the remaining wax to reuse my candle container?

Referred to as bloom, this whitish residue is formed by natural minerals present in the wax rising to the surface. You can easily wipe bloom away with a lint free cloth or by gently warming the candle with a hair dryer for a few seconds.

Why is there a white residue on MY candle?

Due to the chemical makeup of beeswax, it naturally turns brown when exposed to heat but this discoloration will not affect the performance of your candle.

why does my candle wax turn brown after the first burn?

Your wooden wick should sit 1/4 inch (6 mm) above the wax. Once your candle has completely cooled, your wooden wick can be trimmed by snapping off the chard tip where the wood naturally breaks off with your fingers. If too much wick remains, use a candle wick trimmer or a pair of straight nail clippers to trim the wick to its proper length.
